This annual compilation of statistical data relies on substantial help and guidance from a host of civil servants at the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Treasury, the Welsh Government, the Scottish Government, the Northern Ireland Executive, the Office for National Statistics and elsewhere. Similar assistance was provided by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Homes and Communities Agency and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. Their enormous help in compiling this year’s edition of the Review is most readily and warmly acknowledged. This year the authors are also grateful for inputs from others including Peter Williams, Keith Anderson and Glen Bramley. As this may be the last year the Review is published it is also appropriate to express our gratitude to all past contributors, and all those who have helped in different ways over the life of the Review. Many of the statistical data presented here can be accessed in a variety of published, or publicly available, statistical series, and sources are comprehensively acknowledged against each table in the Review. This year the Review has again been produced by the Chartered Institute of Housing. Special thanks are due to John Perry (production editor) and Jeremy Spencer (graphic designer) for their tireless patience, support and creative contributions in producing this edition. We are also grateful to Jane Allen at York University, for her work on the Review website (http://www.ukhousingreview.org.uk/). While over many years support for the Review was received from government, including from the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government, this has now come to an end. Unless this support can be replaced, the Review will not continue in its present form beyond this 21st year.
