UK HOUSING REVIEW 2015

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

This annual compilation of statistical data relies on substantial help and guidance from a host of civil servants at the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Treasury, the Welsh Government, the Scottish Government, the Northern Ireland Executive, the Office for National Statistics and elsewhere. Similar assistance was provided by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Homes and Communities Agency and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. Their enormous help in compiling this year’s edition of the Review is most readily and warmly acknowledged.

We are particularly grateful to the collective help provided by this year’s sponsors (see below), without whom the 23rd edition (and future editions) would not have been possible. While over many years support for the Review was received from government, including from the Department for Communities and Local Government, the likelihood of its ceasing placed the future of the Review under threat. It is therefore particularly pleasing that among the sponsors are the Scottish Government, Welsh Government and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. We are also grateful for the continuing support over the years by the Centre for Housing Policy at the University of York.

Many of the statistical data presented here can be accessed in a variety of published, or publicly available, statistical series, and sources are comprehensively acknowledged against each table in the Review.

This year the authors, led by Steve Wilcox, include also John Perry and Peter Williams. The Review has again been published by the Chartered Institute of Housing with John Perry as production editor. Jeremy Spencer (graphic designer) is thanked for his tireless patience and creative contribution to its design and production. Alan Lewis has again assisted with compiling the tables.

For all the diverse help provided, and despite every attempt that has been made to check and double check all the figures included in the Review, and the construction put upon them, the final responsibility for any errors, omissions or misjudgements is entirely that of the editors. The views expressed in the Review are the responsibility of the respective authors.
